it appears that he got shut in somewhere yesterday – came limping home at about 3.00 p.m. with a very nasty deep cut on his nose, several lumps of fur missing, a couple of horrible cuts on his leg (one down to the bone), and his front claws shredded down to about 1/4 of their normal length 🙁
we fed him aconite (for shock) and ledum (for general healing), cleaned his wounds with hydrogen peroxide, and left him to sleep for a few hours. We repeated the pills at 10 p.m., and he slept on the bed all night. took him to the vet this morning, and he said they look like cuts from broken glass. He’s had anti-inflammatory and antibiotic jabs, and has to go back on Wednesday for repeats. Thankfully none of the cuts seem to need stitching.
still, he’s had a plate of tuna this evening, and I’ve been waltzing into the living room all day with bowls of water to keep him hydrated. I think he’s feeling very stiff and sore today – he really doesn’t want to walk anywhere, and wants to be lifted onto the sofa or the bed.
