first week with the kittens

Astonishing to think they’ve been here a week – we can’t decide if it feels like a few hours or a few years 🙂

Things we – and they – have learned:

• Ron has a temper – a nasty temper. Last night he was playing with one of the houseplants, and Pete picked him up and moved him. Ron hates being scruffed, but it’s what Pete did.  He went straight back to the plant, was scruffed again, and absolutely screamed with rage.  He didn’t try to hurt Pete, or go back to the plant, but it gave us both a bit of a shock – we’ll have to watch that.
• They both like roast chicken – not just the meat, which all the cats love, but also the skin. Nom nom nom.
• Litter tray training continues to be a tad fraught, but I think we’re getting there slowly.  We’ve given up and put a tray behind the television; whoever decreed that cats won’t walk on tin foil obviously didn’t tell EnRon.
• They both like to climb the living room curtains.  This is not acceptable.
• One of them stood on the Roomba last week and turned it on, and it tried to hunt them down.
• They are very sharp of tooth and claw.
• They are fabulous 🙂
