a new rug – how nice

We used to keep a rug on the sofa, so that on a cold night – or in times of feeling a bit poorly – we could curl up under it. All the cats loved this rug, and would happily join us on, or indeed under, it.

A few months ago, when Iggy was the one feeling poorly, we brought this rug upstairs and put it on the cat tree; he liked this a lot, and there it remains.

But we missed having it downstairs, and we finally bought a new rug for the sofa a couple of weeks ago. We keep it folded up under a cushion, because it is a very loose weave, and a delicate little claw could wreak a lot of damage. But a mere cushion can’t stop a determined Bengal, and it looks as though Igpuss has claimed this rug as his own too …
