and despite our hopes, Liessa is not really any better, in Judith’s eyes at least. so, another antibiotic shot, and now she’s on 5mg of Prednisolone per day. Steroids – ugh. I was so hoping to avoid them, but needs must, I guess. and now it’s a case of backwards and forwards to the vet, […]
we returned Bada to Judith the vet this morning, to be checked over after Monday’s operation. she’s healing nicely, but it’s still not clear what the future might hold. Back again in a week. and we weren’t charged for the consultation, which was nice.
well, Bada came through her operation fine. They removed four back teeth, and she had also lost about four already, and we picked her up yesterday at 5 p.m. she was not what you might call a pleased kitten, and Pete took his life in his hands removing the bandage from her paw. She spent […]
and Bada has been delivered to Zetland Vetinary Hospital. She is having a full anaesthetic, dental exam, removal of any bad teef, and a scale and polish. And they’re going to clip her claws too, which will be excellent – she is a *very* sharp kitteh. once the painkillers and antibiotics kicked in on Saturday, […]
Lietha has been a bit off colour for a couple of days, so we popped her down to Judith for a look. Apparently she has lymphocytic plasmacytic stomatitis – a disease with a name longer than she is … this could run and run, the vet told me. First step today was an antibiotic jab […]
Liessa really doesn’t like draughts. She’s not too bad with actual cold, but if the wind is coming from the wrong direction she gets quite miffed; there’s no meat on her – indeed the V says she is a bit underweight – and so the wind goes right through her. This afternoon she was sitting […]
the cats come and go via a set of shelves attached to the back wall of the house, terminating at the study window. We have done this because it’s a rented house, and the only downstairs window at the back is a double glazed patio door – not ideal for a cat flap. generally, this […]
we have a plush ray (called Charles, obviously), which we bought in a moment of madness at San Francisco Aquarium. It’s been stuffed out of the way for ages, but yesterday we found it, had a play with it (well, threw it at each other for a bit), and left it on the bed. come […]
this morning, we found Liessa sitting on the shelf in the bedroom, tearing tiny pieces of cardboard from a shoe box with her little sharp white pointy teeth, and then spitting them out. there’s no accounting for them, really …
for reasons which escape me now, I scattered some dried catnip on our bed for Liessa last night. More sensible people would have done this before we got into bed, but neither P nor I have ever been considered sensible. the sight of her hoovering up the leaves lead to a slightly surreal conversation , […]
