Ron is still very leggy, and if he grows into those long limbs (and big paws) he’ll be huge. Here he is this morning sleeping up high; this ikea storage box is on the top shelf in the study, and clearly isn’t big enough for him to rest all of his body.

Ron and Henry were conveyed to the vet today, to be neutered. As is the way of things these days, this can no longer be done at the little surgery in Hotwells; instead, we had to drag them all the way over to Zetland Road for 8-8.30 a.m. The traffic in our village is appalling […]
Ron helping me work Originally uploaded by ramtops He was all over my desk this morning, chewing cables when he thought I wasn’t looking, thwipping things under the keyboard, and generally being bad in a rather charming sort of way. He’s very black, as you may notice. And exceeding charming 🙂
Ron just came hurtling into the study, tail like the proverbial bog brush. Henry followed close behind, but not looking quite as bushy or agitated. Turned out they’d both been asleep on the bed, and the window cleaner had startled them. Ron wears a permanently startled expression, but this was something to behold. His little […]
Pete and I were reading in bed last night, and there was a sort of scrabbling from under the bed. Kittins do scrabble, of course, but there seemed somehow to be a more concentrated aspect to this than usual. So Pete got out and had a look. And found a rat. Dead, thankfully, but not […]
It was only to tell them that their next worming treatment was due, and I have the pills here to do it (I expect it will hurt – us, not them). But I bet they wouldn’t have told us if I hadn’ t picked up the post …
We caught Ron this morning, spraying the door curtain. From the smell of it, it’s not the first time. So the curtain is in the washing machine, and Ron and Henry are booked in for the snip on 3rd March.
We decided to let Ron and Henry out into the garden yesterday – it’s been getting more and more difficult for us to get in and out, as they were so anxious to make their acquaintance with the great outdoors. Interestingly, Henry (who seems far more mature and sensible than his twin brother) was quite […]
Pete has just come into the study, bearing a black kitten in one hand, and one of my necklaces in the other … Guilty as charged, I think.
We have a rather whizzy shower curtain, with all the elements listed on it. It’s not hugely expensive in the scheme of things, but we’ve only had it a few months, and I’d like it to last a bit longer yet, thankyouverymuch. So this morning, I was not amused to find Ron and Henry in […]
